Disability and Accessibility Services
CT State is accessible to students with disabilities in accordance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, as amended. Students with disabilities that have been diagnosed and documented by a licensed professional qualified to make a diagnosis of the condition may be eligible for services. CT State is committed to the goal of achieving equal educational opportunity and full participation for individuals with disabilities. To this end, CT State uses a variety of learning aids to ensure that no eligible person is excluded from participation in, is denied the benefit of, or is subjected to discrimination in any of its programs, services, or activities. For further information, students can consult with their campus Office for Disability and Accessibility Services - https://ctstate.edu/life-at-ct-state/odas#campus.
Students or faculty members who disagree with the academic accommodations approved by the Office for Disability and Accessibility Services (ODAS) and wish to appeal a decision made by ODAS, must first attempt to resolve the issue with the designated ODAS Lead on their campus. If the issue remains unresolved after this initial step, the disagreeing party can file a formal appeal (https://ctstate.edu/life-at-ct-state/odas#appeal).
CT State’s Office for Disability and Accessibility Services seeks to provide support for students with disabilities by providing reasonable and appropriate accommodations as described on the ODAS webpage - https://ctstate.edu/life-at-ct-state/odas.. Each campus has an Office for Disability & Accessibility Services ready to support students with disabilities throughout their time at CT State. Once approved at one CT State campus, accommodations are applicable across all CT State campuses, unless otherwise specified.
