HPE 2050 - Introduction to Physical Education
Credits: 3
An introduction to the professional aspects of physical education, exercise science and sport studies. The course includes the history, philosophy, and foundation of the role of physical education and lifetime physical activity in society today. Course topics will explore the philosophical and scientific foundations of physical education and an examination of literature, scientific inquiry, exercise prescription, lesson planning, nutrition, and career options available.
