HIMT 2111 - Advanced Coding & Auditing
Credits: 3
This course explores principles of outpatient medical auditing. Students will gain hands-on coding skills assigning International Classification of Disease - Clinical Modification (ICD-CM), Current Procedural Terminology (CPT), and Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS) Level II codes to cases. Students will perform abstraction and auditing of outpatient cases. This course prepares students for the Certified Professional Medical Auditor (AAPC CPMA) certification examination.
Prerequisite: (BOT 1801 and BOT 1802 ) OR (HIMT 2730 and HIMT 2740 ) and either HIMT 2010 or BIO 2103 all with a “C” or higher.
