Program Description

This certificate program will provide graduates with a comprehensive understanding of the multi-disciplinary and multi-agency roles in community health as well as the role they play in protecting public health. Graduates will gain the skills and knowledge to assume roles in community public health that include, but not limited to, state and local health departments, regulatory agencies and nonprofit organizations.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Define the core functions and essential services of public health within a community health context.
  2. This certificate program will provide graduates with a comprehensive understanding of the multi-disciplinary and multi-agency roles in community health as well as the role they play in protecting public health. Graduates will gain the skills and knowledge to assume roles in community public health that include, but not limited to, state and local health departments, regulatory agencies and nonprofit organizations.
  3. Identify the health needs of a community using data collection and interpretation methods.
  4. Identify the health needs of a community using data collection and interpretation methods.
  5. Engage in interdisciplinary collaboration in addressing community health challenges.
  6. Explain relevant local, state, and federal policies that influence community health.

This certificate is not eligible for Federal Financial Aid.
