ASTR 1001 Principles of Astronomy (3 Credits)
An introductory survey course in Astronomy intended for non-science/science majors. Topics include history of astronomy, the solar system, light and spectra, the formation and evolution of stars, galaxies, and the universe. Properties, interrelationships, and the scientific process are emphasized throughout the course.

ASTR 1011 Introduction to Astronomy (4 Credits)
An introductory survey course in Astronomy with laboratory intended for non-science/science majors. Topics include history of astronomy, the solar system, light and spectra, the formation and evolution of stars, galaxies, and the universe. The laboratory portion of the course consists of activities in designed to reinforce and extend knowledge of selected topics covered in the lecture portion of the course.
