Computed Tomography (CAT)
CAT 2001 Cross Sectional Anatomy I (1 Credits)
This course will introduce students to cross sectional imaging of the head and neck. Emphasis will be placed on pathology affecting the cranial cavity and neck in the application of computed tomography imaging. The uses for and administration of pharmacological agents for CT/MRI imaging will be included in this course.
Prerequisites: Admission to the Computed Tomography (CT) Program and American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Registered Radiographer, or Nuclear Medicine (Certification in Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB), or Radiation Therapy Permission of the Middlesex Campus Program Coordinator.

CAT 2002 CT Image Display, Post Processing and Quality Assurance I (2 Credits)
This course will introduce students to imaging parameters. The formation of computed tomography image is discussed as well as the essential component parts of a CT imaging system.
Prerequisites: Admission to the Computed Tomography (CT) Program and American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Registered Radiographer, or Nuclear Medicine (Certification in Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB), or Radiation Therapy Permission of the Middlesex Campus Program Coordinator.

CAT 2003 CT Procedures and Instrumentation (2 Credits)
This course will introduce students to the set-up and operation necessary to acquire optimal images of the head and neck. Emphasis will be placed on the acquisition techniques required to obtain optimal images of the head and neck including their respective pathologies.
Prerequisites: Admission to the Computed Tomography (CT) Program and American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Registered Radiographer, or Nuclear Medicine (Certification in Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB), or Radiation Therapy Permission of the Middlesex Campus Program Coordinator.

CAT 2004 Clinical Experience I (4 Credits)
This course introduces the student to the clinical setting and the practical skills necessary to operate computed tomography imaging systems. Clinical competency evaluations are performed during this course.
CAT 2005 Cross Sectional Anatomy II (2 Credits)
This course will introduce students to cross sectional imaging of the chest, abdomen, pelvis and extremities. Emphasis will be placed on pathology affecting the chest, abdomen, pelvis and extremities in the application of computed tomography (CT)/magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) imaging. The uses for and administration of pharmacological agents for CT/MRI imaging will be included in this course.
Prerequisites: CAT 2094 with a grade of C or higher.

This course will advance the students understanding of imaging parameters. The formation of computed tomography image is discussed as well as essential quality control and assurance testing.

CAT 2007 CT Procedures and Instrumentation II (3 Credits)

This course is a continuation of CAT 2004, with the student honing their skills in their clinical settings and practical skills necessary to operate computed tomography imaging systems. Clinical competency evaluation(s) will be completed during this course which is/are required to sit for the national registry exam.
CAT 2094 Clinical Experience I (4 Credits)
This course introduces the student to the clinical setting and the practical skills necessary to operate computed tomography imaging systems. Clinical competency evaluations are performed during this course.
Prerequisites: Admission to the Computed Tomography (CT) Program and American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Registered Radiographer, or Nuclear Medicine Certification in Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB), or Radiation Therapy or permission of computed tomography program coordinator.
