GEOL 1200 Introduction to Physical Geology (4 Credits)
This 4-credit laboratory natural science is suitable for science and non-science majors. This course serves as an introduction to the principles governing the composition and structure of the Earth, and the study of landforms and dynamic geological processes. Topics include minerals, rocks, fossils, glaciers, climate change, rivers, hydrology, erosion, beaches, earthquakes, volcanoes, plate tectonics, and mountain building. Students will investigate the geologic history of Connecticut. Some field labs are required.
Prerequisites: Eligibility for ENG 1010
