INTD 1001 Interior Design Studio I (4 Credits)
An introduction to the elements and principles of design, the interior design profession, and the interior design problem solving process. The Interior Design Studio atmosphere is a working, explorative and hands-on academic design, and research studio. Lectures will begin with certain assignments while students also produce work for a given project. Individual and group critiques will take place per project. Students are also expected to work independently in preparation for interaction and discussion with the studio Professor. Students are expected to be prepared for each class with the assignments, handouts, books, sketchbooks, architectural scale and drawing materials in hand for reference and use.
Prerequisites: ARCH 1005 or permission of Interior Design Coordinator

INTD 1020 Materials Textiles and Finishes (3 Credits)
The study of interior design textiles, materials and finishes including characteristics, care, codes, and applications.

INTD 1021 Color and Lighting for Design (3 Credits)
A study of color theory and its application to interior design. Fundamentals of lighting design, including lamps, luminaires. Lighting techniques, and applications for residential and commercial projects.

INTD 2001 Interior Design Studio II (4 Credits)
This course is designed to develop technical skills, creativity, an understanding of space planning in residential interior design through presentation formats / material reading. Objectives will be to learn how to plan, organize, and present design concepts of interior design with attention to details and material applications in a residential setting. Students will be encouraged to explore matters of space planning, creating, and developing design schemes, drawing floor plans, elevations, and sections. Students will communicate design ideas through 2D and 3D representations, including massing models.
Prerequisites: INTD 1001 or Permission of Interior Design Coordinator

INTD 2002 Interior Design Studio III (4 Credits)
This course is designed to develop and advance technical skills, creativity, an understanding of space planning in commercial interior design through presentation formats / material reading learned in INTD 2001. Objectives will be to further develop how to plan, organize, and present design concepts of interior design with attention to details and material applications in a residential setting. Students will be encouraged to explore matters of space planning, creating, and developing design schemes, drawing floor plans, elevations, and sections. Students will communicate design ideas through 2D and 3D representations, including massing models.

INTD 2090 Interior Design Internship (3 Credits)
An Interior Design internship provides practical experience in a supervised setting related to the Interior Design profession such as a practice/office, retail design center, material supplier/vendor, product manufacturer, etc. Such an opportunity can be within a public or private setting related to Interior Design or Interior Architecture.
Prerequisites: Completion of 30 credits in Interior Design AND Permission of Interior Design Coordinator
