MUS 1801 - Beginning Voice


Credits: 3

Beginning voice is a performance-based course designed to introduce vocal technique, Italian/English classical, folk and Broadway song repertoire and performance practices to individuals seeking vocal instruction. Emphasis will be given at the beginning of the course to breathing, vowel modification, posture and other physical issues related to singing. As the semester continues, we will study Italian diction, performance practice, and introduce International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA).
