BFIN 2100 - Principles of Finance

Principles of Finance serves as an introduction to financial management. Financial management is concerned with value and, when applied to firms, studies financial decision making and its impact on the value of the firm. It is an examination of how a business and investors plans their needs for funds, raise the necessary funds, and invests them to attain its goals. This course covers money and capital markets, financial analysis, working capital management, long term financing, the time value of money, risk, leverage, ratio analysis, portfolio theory, and cost of capital.

Prerequisite: A grade of C - or higher in all of the following courses: ACCT 1130 , ECON 1002  
Prerequisite/Corequisite: MATH 1200  may be taken concurrently
