SURH 2290 - The Surgical Technologist Professional Credits: 3
This course is to educate students in the professional practice of surgical technology. This course prepares the surgical technology student to transition successfully from the classroom to the perioperative setting as a “competent, entry-level surgical technologist professional”. Students will be taught how to develop a professional portfolio and enhance interview skills. The course emphasizes review of surgical technology principles and practices and test taking strategies in preparation for the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) Certified Surgical Technologists (CST) exam.
Prerequisite: Permission of the Surgical Technology Program Director Corequisite: SURH 2394 Previous SUR* 225
