HIST 2019 - An American Revolution

This course focuses on the major events, issues, and people during the period of American Independence. It studies the ideas and actions of ordinary people and diverse groups such as the farmers, enslaved people, women, and Continental solders. It will analyze how people reacted to the dominant ideas of the era, how they pursued freedom and liberty, how the rhetoric and reality of the era converged and collided, and ultimately what forces prevailed to create the new republic.

Prerequisite: Eligibility for ENG 1010  or ENG 0910
