PHLB 2095 - Phlebotomy Practicum

Credits: 4

Students will complete 120 hours of clinical training at an approved site under the direct supervision of a phlebotomy supervisor or medical laboratory technician- 60 hours performing phlebotomy procedures, and 60 hours training/working in the specimen processing area of the lab. Students will perform successful, unaided blood collections of varying types during this practicum. In addition, students will be required to complete the following assignments- project/paper on a phlebotomy-related topic and create their own resume using guidelines posted on Black Board.

Prerequisite: PHLB 1001  and PHLB 1072 , both with a minimum grade of B-
