This 2024-25 Curriculum Guide is intended as a reference for Fall 2024 registration. The complete 2024-25 Academic Catalog will be finalized on July 1, 2024.


The MIS certificate will introduce students to an overview of programming, database and various MIS classes that can be applied to various business environments. Courses are designed to offer students positions in industry, advancement of career and will also provide a solid foundation for continuation of a two-year associate degree in Computer Information Systems Technology.

Certificate Learning Outcomes:

  • Acquire a familiarization with terminology and structure of a programming language.
  • Demonstrate the ability to use software tools for program development.
  • Demonstrate a basic understanding of relational database concepts.
  • Preparedness to advance one’s career, or move on to more advanced study in MIS, CIS, or related fields.
