			| CT State Community College Catalog 2023-2024
				New students enrolling for the first time in Fall 2023 will begin as students of Connecticut State Community College under this catalog. Continuing students from one of the 12 community colleges will be transitioned into a CT State program in this catalog as of the start of the Fall 2023 term.The policies, courses and programs described are applicable as of the Fall 2023 term and may be updated as circumstances require. |  ***This certificate is pending final approval by spring 2023 governance*** This program is a career-oriented certificate program designed to prepare students to work in various types of audio-related positions in music recording and media.  Students can specialize in either music production or audio production for media, with some overlap between these two areas. The program emphasizes hands-on training using professional-level, state-of-the-art, digital audio technology and software with some required coursework in music. While not designed as a transfer program, the curriculum includes several courses modeled after those offered by similar bachelor’s degree programs and should allow for easy transfer to these types of programs.
 CT State, Middlesex campus is home to a new audio recording and post-production studios and labs are Pro Tools-based and will allow students to learn the advanced-level skills necessary to be competent professional audio technicians. Learning Outcomes
