SURH 2190 - Surgical Technologist Role and Responsibilities Credits: 2
This course provides introduction to patient care concepts, communication and teamwork required to assist the surgical technologist in the operating room environment. Course content includes an overview of the various levels of credentialing, hospital organization and healthcare professional organizations. It will cover the legal/ethical/moral responsibilities, including liability and scope of practice, in the surgical technologist role. This course includes mock surgery in a clinical lab setting and orientation to the Hartford Healthcare System facilities.
Prerequisite: COMM 1301 and admission to the Manchester Campus Hartford Hospital Surgical Technology Program Corequisite: SURH 2210 Previous SUR* 201
