ESOL 0902 - Integrated Skills I: High Beginning Credits: 6
Students entering this high beginning level course will already have a basic knowledge of English. Through reading, listening, and discussion activities, students focus on fluency in oral and written communication skills. Extensive reading forms the basis of individual writing assignments as well as small group and class discussions. Work on grammatical principles, sentence structures, and organizational skills leads to effective paragraphs and/or short writings. Structured listening and speaking activities enhance students’ listening comprehension and oral communication skills.
Prerequisite: Placement into the level through ESL multiple measure placement method or permission of coordinator/ department chair. Elective Code(s): DEVL Additional Info: This course does not count toward graduation. It does receive institutional credit. Previous ESL* 022
