SPAN 2010 - Spanish for Heritage Speakers Credits: 4
This course is designed for native or heritage speakers of Spanish who have had little or no formal training in the language, but they possess oral proficiency. The main goal is to enhance and further develop their reading and writing skills, so students are well prepared to enroll in the upper-level Spanish courses; however, this course prepares students to express themselves with fluency and accuracy while enhancing cultural understanding and gaining a deep appreciation of their linguistic and culture heritage. This is a four-credit course with an embedded language lab component.
Prerequisite: A grade of C- or higher in one of the following courses: SPAN 1012 or SPAN 1013 , or complete a Language and Culture placement test and be able to communicate orally in Spanish or obtain permission of the Instructor. Elective Code(s): LACU, LART Previous SPA* 210
