SPAN 2111 - Advanced Spanish I Credits: 3
This course is an advanced systematic review of the Spanish language and Spanish speaking cultures, which continues the gradual development of the four basic skills: listening comprehension, speaking, reading, and writing. Emphasis will be placed on reading and writing, detailed explanation of the principles of grammar, and training in reading comprehension to facilitate writing skills. Prose and poetry from a wide array of Latin American and Spanish writers will be introduced to enhance writing abilities. This course is designed for students versed in conversational Spanish, and for Spanish speakers.
Prerequisite: A grade of C- or higher in SPAN 2012 , or complete a Language and Culture placement test, or permission of the Instructor. Elective Code(s): FLNG, LACU, LART Previous SPA* 251
