SURH 2050 - Medical Terminology for Surgical Technologists Credits: 2
This course is for the education of surgical technologists. Medical Terminology introduces the surgical technology (ST)student to the basic concepts of building the medical word from its component parts of prefix, suffix and word roots. Through word analysis and exercises, the student will learn the anatomical, physiological, pathological and surgical/clinical terms as they pertain to body cells, tissue and systems. Strong emphasis will be placed on diseases and surgical intervention terms to enhance the performance of the surgical technologist in the healthcare setting.
Prerequisite: Admission to the Manchester Campus Hartford Hospital Surgical Technology Program Corequisite: SURH 2210 Previous SUR* 105
