ART 1250 - Color Theory Credits: 3
An examination of color theory and terminology. This course is designed for Fine Art, Photography, and Graphic Design majors. It is an exploration and study of color relationships as they apply to diverse media. Studio projects will allow students to develop sensitivity to color interactions and explore the visual, psychological, and emotional effect color has in our world. Painting and a variety of media may be used to formulate presentations ranging from fundamental problem solving to individual expression.
General Education Code: Arts and Humanities (ARHX) Elective Code(s): ARTS, CRTY, LART Additional Info: This fundamental course will provide an introduction to the principles of color and an exploration of color theory as it relates to design. Students investigate color schemes and properties and their relationship to composition in making appropriate design decisions.
